Tali Dalton

Tali Dalton began her education in glass at Monash University in 1996 where she received a Bachelor of Ceramic Design majoring in glass in 1999.
During that time she spent a year studying glass techniques and technology at The International Glass Center in the United Kingdom.
In 2000 Tali enrolled at RMIT University and received a Bachelor of Fine Art, 1st class honours in 2001.

Tali has exhibited regularly both in Australia and overseas. Her work is held in private collections in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland UK and USA and is included in the collection of Sir Elton John.

In 2005 the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, NSW, Australia, acquired her work for the National Glass Collection.
Tali’s work is also in the collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK,
Palm Springs Art Museum, California, USA and Glasmuseum Alter Hof Herding, Coesfeld – Lette, Germany.

Tali has been the recipient of a Seimens Fine Arts Travel Scholarship and an Ian Potter Cultural Trust grant as well as being short listed for the Prometheus Visual Arts Award and the prestigious Ranamok Prize for Contemporary Glass for two consecutive years. She has been selected for the Tom Malone Glass Prize, Art Gallery of Western Australia and is a recipient of an Australia Council grant and an Arts Victoria grant.

Tali’s sculptural work captures a moment in time associated with personal emotions in intimate relationships. Each sculpture expresses a glimpse into personal space, a moment frozen in time, intended to evoke personal memories or desires.
Each work is comprised of  interlocking blown glass forms inspired by nature, in particular vines and their spiraling tendrils.

The use of various cold working techniques such as sandblasting, wheel cutting, engraving and polishing are incorporated into the works to create subtle surface textures. These textures are intended to compliment the sculptural forms whilst enhancing the expression of intimate space and emotion.
